Rooftop, Community Solar, Commercial Solar
Rockville, MD
148.42 kW

Description
Central Baptist Church in Rockville, Maryland, has turned its commitment to sustainability into action by hosting a 148.42 kW community solar system on its rooftop. The project allows the church to reduce its environmental footprint, earn long-term lease income, and participate in clean energy production without making a substantial upfront investment.
Through this initiative, subscribers such as the Jewish Council for the Aging, Bradley Hills Presbyterian Church, and the Town of Washington Grove are also able to lower their energy costs and embrace renewable power. Financing support from the Montgomery County Green Bank, provided through a direct loan to Skyview Ventures, made the project possible in partnership with Davis Hill Development.
The Central Baptist Church project highlights how faith-based organizations can create real economic and environmental impact by working with clean energy partners to bring community solar to life.
“Here at Central, we value the principle of stewardship. This is another way in which our church is able to exercise stewardship of resources and the environment. It has been exciting to see this project move into operation. The professionalism of the entire team really made it come together. We are looking forward to many years of strong partnership with DHD and Skyview.”
